Just weeks after moving in with her fiance, teen heartthrob Freddie
Prinze Jr., the actress who plays one of TV's toughest chicks
may be getting a bad case of cold feet.
"I
don't want to end up like Tom Green and Drew Barrymore,"
Sarah Michelle Gellar - the ruthless vampire slayer Buffy on the
UPN network's most popular series - told a friend.
Gellar,
who did a character's voice with Charlie's Angels star Barrymore
on Disney's Hercules cartoon in 1998, watched Barrymore and comedian
Green be happy together for nearly a year and a half of dating.
But then, barely five months after tying the knot, Green filed
for divorce.
Suddenly, Gellar stopped gushing to friends about beau Prinze,
best known for his appearances in the I Know What You Did Last
Summer movies.
Worse,
she compares her coupling with Drew's.
"I
was shocked when Sarah said that," a Gellar confidant told
Confidential.
"She
was never shy about her relationship with Freddie. She always
talked about him. Now it's like: 'Well, I don't want to end up
like Drew.' Sarah would feel shackled by marriage."
Gellar,
meanwhile, still has revealed no wedding date, although the two
have been engaged for a year and dating for two.
"She
has taken to not answering when you ask her about him," the
source said. "She doesn't have a clear idea of when they're
getting married. And she doesn't even talk much about the movie
they just made together."
Gellar,
24, and Prinze, 26, are sharing top billing in the upcoming movie
adaptation of the popular cartoon Scooby-Doo, due out in June.
Prinze,
meanwhile, remains smitten with the thin blonde bombshell.
On
the same day Gellar was making those comments, another source
in L.A. heard Prinze tell buddies he couldn't go out drinking
with them because his "girl" was taking him out for
dinner.
Still,
Gellar's hesitations come in the wake of Star's recent scoop that
Prinze wants an at-home wife and a family like, right now. Gellar,
meanwhile, is driving a stake through Prinze's hopes. She wants
to continue furthering her career. "She isn't herself these
days," her confidant said. "The good news is: She's
still wearing the engagement rock he bought her."
